Chlamydia Diagnosis & Tests:

A swab specimen is drawn from the urethral region in men and the cervical region in case of women which is sent for detailed laboratory analysis. A urine sample is taken on which a battery of tests are undertaken.

Chlamydia Treatment:

An oral prescription of antibiotics like azithromycin or Zithromax or Doxycycline is recommended by the doctor. The partner is also suggested to undergo treatment in conjunction to avert any infection or spread in future. Within seven to fourteen days, with proper intake of antibiotic course, Chlamydia is cured.

Those women with acute infection could need to be hospitalized, necessitating the intra-venal dose of antibiotics and pain reliever medications.

A re-test is crucial after medication is complete to ensure that complete cure has occurred. It is necessary to abstain from contact, till both partners are completely cured in important.

Possible Complications:
