The FDA panel is due for a meeting on Wednesday to decide on whether to suggest approval of the Gardasil vaccine in males of the age bracket from nine to twenty-six years. The Gardasil vaccine is known to specifically attack four human papilloma viral forms, generally known as HPV. Previously the gardasil vaccine has received the FDA stamp of approval to be used in females in the age bracket from nine to twenty-six years. However, HPV is known to not merely affect young girls and women, with men carrying the HPV virus and sexually transmitting it to their mates. HPV could additionally lead to the formation of genital warts along with penile and anal cancers amongst males.
